The memes about Kylian Mbappé being a “dictator” have now reached the Bundesliga. Stuttgart secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the race for Champions League qualification, and Deniz Undav marked his third goal with a very particular celebration.
His teammates saluted him, while Undav mockingly wagged his index finger, pretending to scold them.

“They call me the commander in the team, just like Mbappé in those memes,” the striker explained. “Two or three weeks ago, we agreed I’d celebrate like this if I scored again.”
Undav is in fine form: his 19th goal in 28 matches this season. Only the unstoppable Harry Kane (33 goals) has more in the league. In the 2023/24 campaign, when Stuttgart finished second, Undav netted 18 times. Now he’s already surpassed that, with one more matchday left—against Eintracht Frankfurt.
“I’ve set a personal record, and of course I’m very happy. It would be great to reach 20 goals this week,” the forward told DAZN. “I’ll do everything I can to make that happen, because we need to win to secure Champions League football. But if we qualify anyway, I won’t care whether I score 20 or not.”
From the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig have already secured their spots in the top European competition. Ahead of the final matchday, Stuttgart currently holds the last ticket, but Hoffenheim trails only on goal difference, while Leverkusen is three points behind.
So Stuttgart and their “commander” Undav still have two crucial games ahead: the final league match in Frankfurt and the DFB-Pokal final against Bayern Munich in Berlin.
