The New York Knicks dominated the Philadelphia 76ers 144-114 on Sunday at Xfinity Mobile Arena, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. Jalen Brunson led the way with 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including 6-of-10 from three-point range, in just 28 minutes of action.
After the victory, cameras captured heartwarming scenes as Brunson celebrated with his family. He lifted his daughter Jordyn and kissed her cheek before embracing his wife Ali and kissing her while holding their youngest daughter, who will turn 2 in July. He then walked off the court holding his daughter’s hand.
The postgame press conference took a charming turn when a tiny voice from the background called out, “Hi dada,” followed by another “Dada”—clearly from Brunson’s daughter. The Knicks star paused mid-sentence with a smile, visibly distracted by the sweet interruption.
This marks the second consecutive season that Brunson has led the Knicks to the Eastern Conference Finals. Throughout the series against Philadelphia, he averaged 28.0 points per game, shooting 48.6% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc.
When asked about how he has helped reshape the Knicks’ culture, Brunson preferred to save that discussion for after his career. “This place means a lot to me,” he said. “Our story is still being written.”
New York now awaits the winner of the series between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers.
