Belgrano secured a 2-0 victory over Union in the home quarterfinal match of the Argentine Apertura tournament. The game took place at the Julio César Villagra Stadium in Córdoba.
Midfielder Adrián Hozada opened the scoring in the 65th minute, with an assist from former Zenit forward Emiliano Rigoni. In stoppage time, midfielder Ramiro Hernández added a second goal for Belgrano in the 96th minute, sealing their place in the semifinals.
During the regular phase of the Apertura, Belgrano finished fifth in Group B, while Union ended eighth in Group A.
