Brazilian forward Airton found the net again for Anyang in a 1-1 draw against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors last Sunday in the K-League 1. The striker capitalized on a loose ball inside the six-yard box to open the scoring, marking his fourth goal of the season.

With that strike, Airton became the club’s leading scorer in the current campaign. Matheus Oliveira and Un Kim trail behind with two goals each.

After the match, the former Palmeiras and Cruzeiro player shared his thoughts on his individual form and the competitive nature of the South Korean league.

“I’m happy. Scoring is always special, especially in tight matches. I was well positioned and took my chance,” Airton said.

The attacker also spoke about the demanding schedule and the high level of competition in the K-League.

“The calendar is tough. Jeonbuk, for example, is a great side. The level of competitiveness is very high, and every game pushes us to the limit. We have to keep working hard to improve as a team and fight for a top spot in the table,” he added.
