At 10 minutes into the first half – Sinisterra’s shot inside the area goes wide for Cruzeiro against Bahia.
Forward Luis Sinisterra is close to securing a permanent stay at Cruzeiro. The Colombian, who started for the first time this season against Bahia, is in the final months of his loan contract with the Minas Gerais club.
Cruzeiro paid €2.5 million (approximately R$16 million) to Bournemouth, of England, for the loan until June this year, with an obligation to purchase part of the rights for €3.5 million (R$22 million) if undisclosed targets are met. With the agreement nearing its end, Cruzeiro is already moving to secure the Colombian’s permanent transfer and is expected to announce it in the coming days.
Sinisterra has been dealing with a series of injuries that have prevented him from gaining consistent playing time. Before the match against Bahia, his last appearance was in the victory over Remo on April 25.

Artur Jorge praised the forward and highlighted his progress. Sinisterra suffered an injury at the very start of the season and was sidelined for nearly two months due to a right thigh edema sustained in the match against Mirassol.
The coach urged caution for the player, who is still seeking to regain match rhythm and adapt to the team’s style. In 2026, he has only played five games for the club.
“He is a player with above-average individual quality, who will be important for us. He needs to find his way, but the truth is we have to create small triggers in the short training time we have—one good training day, sometimes two, no more than that. The players have to convince me that I can bet on them, that I can give them minutes.”
“In his case, and in Marquinhos’ case, they are players coming off long injuries. They will only regain condition by playing; training alone is not enough. It’s important that the players give me positive feedback so I can keep betting on them.”

“The players also must make the most of those few training moments. For what? So they can deliver, like Sinisterra did. For me, it was very positive in terms of quality, from the perspective of the game plan and how he behaved, right up to his limit. He is a player coming off a long period out, and we have to go little by little, giving him minutes so he can reach the level of the others.”
Sinisterra has already suffered four injuries at Cruzeiro—all muscular. Due to physical issues, he has played only 19 matches, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
The Colombian arrived at the club with an injury history. During his three seasons in England with Bournemouth, he spent long periods in the medical department and suffered six different physical problems.
